What can you expect from our SMS program?

  • We'll give you support throughout your journey

Join our free SMS support program! It's like having a buddy in your pocket to help you out. Whether you're starting your journey or just need a little extra push, we've got your back! And don't worry, you can opt out anytime you want.

You will receive SMS messages to your phone for the duration of the program you select.

There are three programs to choose from:

  • 30 Day SMS support program: This program is designed to help you at every step when making changes to your alcohol or drug use.
  • Detox Support Program (14 Days): This program is designed to support you through a period of stopping a substance. Please note: Withdrawing or detoxing from alcohol and or benzodiazepines can have medical complications that can be life-threatening. Please speak to your GP or seek medical advice before stopping use.
  • Weekend Tips (Friday evening to Sunday morning  – 4 weekends): This program is designed to help you during the weekend and provide some tips for staying safe and well.

What should I do in an emergency?

If a person has collapsed or lost consciousness immediately seek assistance by calling an ambulance on triple zero (000).

If they have stopped breathing commence CPR. If they are breathing normally, place them into the recovery position and continue to monitor them until the ambulance arrives.

Can I sign up someone else for the service?

You should only sign yourself up for this service. If you are finding it difficult to start a conversation with someone about their drug or alcohol use, our counsellors can give you some strategies to get the conversation started. When will I receive my first message?

Once you sign up, you will start receiving messages the following day at the scheduled time for your selected program. Morning messages go out around 8:00am and afternoon messages go out about 3:00pm. If you sign up on a weekend for the Weekend Tips program, you will start receiving messages the following weekend.

Can I unsubscribe?

You can unsubscribe from this service at any time. When you unsubscribe you will stop receiving messages instantly. 

If you choose to unsubscribe, all you need to do is enter your number into our opt-out page.
